CNBC covers Oaksterdam University

Has the mainstream media finally realized the potential of the multi-million dollar cannabis industry?  It sure looks that way.  CNBC presents a two part report.  Part one details the millions of dollars that cannabis-related businesses generate for the state of California, while part two documents the charter class of Oaksterdam University's Los Angeles school, taught by Jeff Jones of the PIDC/OCBC.

We have two important meetings coming up soon.  The monthly Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) meeting and separately the monthly Measure Z meeting are both next week!  Here are the details:

Oaksterdam Celebrates Cannabis Awareness Day

Just this past Saturday, the world and Oaksterdam celebrated Cannabis Awareness Day.  You may also know the day as Cannabis Freedom Day, or Marijuana March.  Either way, check out all the fun that was had!

Mario Juarez Fund Raiser @ the Bulldog Coffeeshop in Oaksterdam, 5/16/08

The Bulldog Coffeeshop is holding a fund raiser for Mario Juarez, who is
running for Oakland City Council District 5.

Mario Juarez has promised to open at least 10 MMJ outlets in Oakland and wants to implement more fully the Oakland Cannabis regulation and revenue ordinance (65% of vote).  If you want more clubs in Oakland, this is your chance to make it happen.  Suggested minimum donation of $20.

When:  May 16, 2008 @ 6pm-8pm
Where: Bulldog Coffeeshop 1739 Broadway, Oakland
What:   Full coffee bar, soft drinks, light snacks, well ventilated lounge on-site.
